A Note to Our Visitors

Overview

You can see distinctive characteristics in the decorative style of the work of Rinpa artists such as Ogata Korin and Sakai Hoitsu. One motif that most often appears in their paintings is that of flowering plants in each season. To commemorate the completion of the restoration of Irises, we’ll introduce you mainly to paintings of flowering plants by the Rinpa School, from masterpieces collected by and entrusted to the museum. Enjoy the gorgeous world that adorns the room.
